Sensory Assessments

Understanding your sensory needs is a powerful step toward feeling more regulated, resilient, and aligned in daily life. At Root to Blossom, sensory exploration can be woven into a broader therapeutic journey—or offered as a focused, standalone service for those seeking clarity and insight into their unique sensory identity.

Whether you're an overstimulated parent, a burned-out professional, or someone navigating chronic stress or neurodivergence, sensory assessment can help you better understand how your nervous system interacts with the world—and how to support it.

Sensory assessments are available for both adolescents and adults.

What’s Involved:

  • Intake Session: We begin with a one-on-one session to understand your current challenges, goals, and lifestyle context. This helps us tailor the sensory assessment to your lived experience and ensure it’s meaningful and actionable.

  • Sensory Matrix™ Assessment: You’ll complete this evidence-based assessment independently online. It takes approximately 15–20 minutes and identifies your sensory preferences and sensitivities across multiple domains. The results help us understand what environments, activities, and interactions support or challenge your regulation.

  • Personalized Debrief Session
We’ll walk through your results together, translating data into meaningful insights. You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of your sensory identity and practical strategies to support regulation in your daily life.

  • Optional Integration into Therapy
Sensory assessment can be a standalone service or part of a broader occupational therapy plan. If you’re engaged in ongoing therapy, we’ll use your sensory profile to guide interventions, routines, and co-regulation strategies.

Please note: All sensory assessments require at minimum both an intake and a debrief session to ensure the process is thorough, personalized, and supportive.

Who It’s For:

  • Adolescents who feel overstimulated or struggle to engage in daily routines

  • Parents navigating sensory demands and fatigue

  • Professionals managing burnout, sensory overload, or workplace stress

  • Individuals seeking deeper self-awareness and regulation tools

  • Anyone curious about how sensory processing impacts their mental health, relationships, and routines
